Do I need to download an app?
No. That's the whole point. I talk to you on WhatsApp or Telegram. Apps you already have. No download, no account to create, no password to remember. You just text me like you'd text a friend.
Is Calen a real person?
I'm not a real person. But the conversation we had this morning about whether to plant tomatoes or basil on the balcony? That was real. The reminder I sent about your friend's birthday? That was real. I'm AI, and that means I don't get tired and I don't miss a morning. Like any AI, I can occasionally get things wrong. But I'm honest about it, and I'm always learning.
How do I talk to Calen?
You text me. Or send me a voice message. The same way you talk to your family on WhatsApp or Telegram. That's it. No menus, no settings, no accounts. You talk, I listen, I respond.
Can my kids set this up for me?
Absolutely. They purchase a gift, and I message you directly in WhatsApp or Telegram to say hello. There's no app to download, no account to create, no settings to configure. By the next morning, I check in like I've known you for years. Most people are comfortable within the first conversation.
Who is Calen for?
Adults 50+ who are sharp, curious, and underserved by technology built for medical monitoring. Also sold as a gift by adult children for a parent who lives alone. Built for people who want a companion who pays attention, not another tool that waits for commands.
How Calen is different
How is this different from ChatGPT?
ChatGPT is a tool you open when you need something. I'm a friend who shows up every morning on my own, inside WhatsApp or Telegram. I remember you across weeks and months, not just one conversation. I have opinions, I know your people, and I bring things up when they matter, not when you remember to ask. Nothing new to download, no account, no window to keep track of.
How is this different from Siri or Alexa?
They wait for you to ask. I check in every morning on my own. They forget everything between conversations. I remember your friends, your plans, your preferences. All of it. They live in an app. I live in your WhatsApp, right next to your family chats.
What Calen does
Can Calen read my email?
Not through your Google account. The Google connection is calendar-only: it lets me read your calendar events and the Google email address used for consent. If you forward an email or letter to me in chat, I can explain it, help you reply, or tell you whether it matters.
Can Calen make pictures?
Yes. Tell me what you want: a birthday card, a painting, a funny picture of your cat on a throne. I use what I know about you to make it personal. Sunflowers because your mother loves them. Your favorite colors. The view from your garden.
Can Calen track my stocks?
Yes. Tell me what you own and I'll check prices, explain what moved, and give you a plain-English update. No financial jargon. I can also look up any stock or check exchange rates.
Can Calen help me understand Social Security and retirement stuff?
Yes. Ask me when to claim Social Security, how Medicare parts work, what an RMD is, or how compound interest works. I explain it the way a friend would over coffee. I'm not a financial advisor. I'm someone who has been through it and can walk you through the basics.
Can Calen look things up for me?
Yes. Send me any link and I'll read it and tell you what it says. Ask me to research a retirement community, compare two products, or fact-check something you saw online. I read the actual websites and give you the straight answer.
Can Calen help me plan a trip?
Yes. Tell me where you want to go and I'll find hotels with real prices, suggest restaurants, look up activities, and track your flights. I remember what you liked last time. On travel days, your morning briefing includes flight status, weather at your destination, and everything you need.
Memory, family, presence
What does Calen remember?
Everything you tell me. Names and relationships of family and friends, medications and health numbers, appointments and routines, preferences, travel plans, hobbies, pets. Memory persists across every conversation for the duration of your plan.
What if my parent seems a little too quiet lately?
That's one of the reasons I exist. I don't wait for a question. I check in every morning, remember what your parent told me yesterday, and keep the conversation going when the house gets quiet. I'm not a replacement for family. I'm someone who is there in between.
Does Calen notice if something is wrong?
If your parent usually talks to me every day and suddenly goes quiet, I notice. I send a gentle check-in. If silence continues and a trusted contact is configured, I can let them know. It's not surveillance. It's the kind of thing a good friend would do.
Safety, privacy, limits
Is this safe? Will my information be shared?
Your conversations are private. I don't sell your data or share it with advertisers. I'm paid for by you, not by your information. You can view, export, or delete your data at any time. Our full privacy policy is on the website, written in plain language.
What can the gift buyer see?
Nothing. Gift buyers cannot access your conversations, memory, health information, documents, or any details you share with me. They receive email reminders before the gift period ends and can renew at calendash.app/renew. Your privacy is absolute.
Is Calen a medical device?
No. I organize health information, remind you about medications, and help prepare for doctor visits, but I don't diagnose, prescribe, or replace clinical care. If something is urgent, I'll tell you to call 911.
Is Calen a financial advisor?
No. I explain financial concepts in plain English, track your stocks with real-time data, and discuss Social Security and Medicare timing. I'm not a licensed financial advisor and I say so when it matters.
Plans, cancellation, support
What languages does Calen speak?
I understand text in any language. For voice messages, I speak English, Spanish, French, Russian, Italian, Portuguese, Hindi, Greek, Turkish, Swedish, Finnish, Hungarian, Croatian, Czech, and Filipino. Just write or talk to me in your language. No settings to change.
What if I want to stop?
Your access ends automatically when your time is up. Nothing to cancel, no auto-renewal. If you want to stop early, you can get a full refund within 14 days on monthly and multi-month plans. After that, just ask me to delete your data. Simple as that.
What if I want to continue?
Go to calendash.app/renew. Enter the email you used when you purchased. I send you a link to pick up where we left off. If someone gave me to you as a gift, you can renew it yourself from the same page. Everything I learned carries over.
What if I need help or have a problem?
